Frequently Asked Questions

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel a reservation more than 7 days prior to the start of class, your deposit is fully refundable or transferrable to another class of your choice. If you cancel less than 7 days before your class one half (1/2) is fully transferrable or refundable if you cannot make the class for any reason.

What should I bring to the class?

You should bring a serviceable handgun, 3 magazines or speedloaders, an outside of the waistband holster and magazine pouch and 200 rounds of appropriate ammunition. You will need a sturdy belt. You will need ear and eye protection. Plan to dress to be outside for at least 6 hours in shooting range appropriate clothes (meaning clothes that wont get hung up on your gun, you don’t mind getting a little dirty, and protects you from hot brass as it ejects from your or another persons gun). Decent hiking boots are suggested.

What is the difference between backcountry carry and just concealed carry?

The backcountry poses additional threats, especially since there is often no authorities to call in an emergency. There are also different carry options given the relaxed rules about concealing a firearm.

What if I don’t have the appropriate equipment for class?

We can help! Trailhead Tactics is a Federal Firearms Licensee, and we can make suggestions or provide much of the equipment you will need.
